5-0 out of 5 stars Love this watch
The price is a steal at $74. I priced this watch on other online retailers and the lowest price I found was for $109, which was their "closeout" price. This watch looks even better in person.Versatile- can wear with any outfit, casual or formal and the two-tone band goes with anything. Love the watch and the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars I figured the wife deserved a really nice watch...
and this one has definitely fit the bill....she's probably never had such a sharp looking watch, especially since it is just the right size for her....once she opened it, and saw the classy styling and the super sturdy clasp, she fell in love with it ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Worked great til it fell apart
I bought this watch in blue a year or so ago, and almost immediately the paint on the plastic around the face started to wear off.Today, the 2 plastic pieces around the face just fell off.It looks like the glue gave out.My last Timex is still running and in good shape at 10 years old, so this one was a real disappointment. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars DONT BUY THIS WATCH
this watch has one use: to look cool.that is all. The range is probably about half a mile, but thats better than my mororla 2 mile walkie talkie. My friend and I both got one.we live about a mile a part, and as I was walking over, I tried to contact him the whole way.It didn't work until I was very close.
Both of the wristbands of the watches broke, ITS A HORRIBLE DESIGN.We were able to fix them by puting in a paper clip.

The watch is to bulky to wear W/O looking like a total moron.WHAT A FAT WATCH.
the battery is good though

4-0 out of 5 stars I had to get one!
This watch is incredible! My roomate bought one so i figured it would be nice to get one for myself. We use it on campus all the time. It makes me feel like inspector gadget. And the ladies love it. Good Buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really cool product, BUT....
...I've bought 4 of these.Three of them are now broken and useless because you can't buy the part...nor get them serviced. They all broke in the exact same spot...a pin fell out that holds the metal clip together in the band.Nice idea, but now what do I do with three watches without bands?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
This walkie talkie is great. It is well worth the price of 25$. Most walkie talkies cost about 40. You can contact anyone with a walkie talkie with frequencies. This watch has a scan feature so you can see who is on any channel. The range is ok, at 1.5 miles. It is great to wear, and it has Vox. (you can transmit a message by just talking and you dont need to press the talk button). I bought one of these and one x3x. The x3x is the same, it is just a different color and it is a little less bulky. I have great fun with this.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can this be used overseas?
Has anyone tried this in other countries? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mine just died
After about seven years of great service, my wrist now bears a dead AMW320D (great name, eh, really trips off the tongue).I went in for my third battery replacement and the jeweler told me that corrosion had eaten away at the movement. The first time I replaced the battery I learned that the seal had to be broken and the watch might no longer resist water. The soft rubbery plastic strap died long ago, replaced by a superior twist-o-flex-style metal wrist band.
Now you might think I'm dissatisfied. But I intend to order another the minute (or so -- I don't have a working watch) I finish writing this review. Why?It has been a great watch.Analog plus digital gives me easy-to-read intuitive time checking, along with all the bells and whistles of silicon: multiple times, alarm, stop watch, and calendar. The outer ring on the face lets me rotate the "north" arrow to a future time, say 45 minutes from now, and I know time's up when the minute hand gets there.(I have no idea why the face ring has compass points and degrees marked on it -- to fool one's friends?)The watch has been rugged, holding up to the shock of using hoes and axes, although I didn't push my luck if I remembered to take it off.
I'm looking at my old friend, now motionless and blank, and figure he had a pretty good run.Time's up for this timepiece, at a cost of a little more than $10 per year. Since I bought the last one on display at Mervyn's, I didn't get a box or manual and didn't even know what it was called AMW320D until looking it up on the web just now.AMW320D I didn't even know your name all these great years together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of both watch worlds
This Marine Gear has become one of my favorite watches of all time. And take this from an enthousiastic collector who's tried out quite a few watches. If you're like me, you might like to alternate at times between analog and digital watches.I find myself using an analog watch about 60% of the time because they look great and it's easy to see how much time you've got left.On the other hand, digitals get about 40% of my wrist time, especially when I'm in a casual, sport, or technical mode.

Well, here's a watch that's the best of both worlds. With this Marine Gear, Casio has a real classic "diver" watch both in form and function.

In function, this watch has all the classical functions I like in in the digital line-up: stopwatch, alarm, hourly beep, and date. The digital time and dual time has come in handy, especially travelling. In fact, with the analog hands, you can have three time zones on your watch at once. Also, it is easy to synchronize the digital and analog seconds. In the analog department, the hand are the easy to see-at-a-glance oversized diver fashion. The hour markers are made to show up in the dark.My only disappointment is that the luminosity lasts only for an hour so in the dark; it won't get you through the night. But that's only a minor let-down.

As to form, here's a real classic look in the world of water sport and divers watches.I've found that the hefty steel case, elapsed-time ring, canary yellow dial, and wide black divers strap make a really attractive and tough-looking wrist accessory that get lots of remarks like, "great watch!" from friends.

I first noticed this Marine Gear in about 1989 and immediatly thought, "Wow, gotta get this watch!"(In those days, the first Marine Gears has the function pushers at 8 and four rather than at 8 and 10 on the latest models.) Even though that watch is still working fine after about 15 years, I got a couple of others too.In the mid-90's, Casio put out a models with black and white dials andsteel band.I like them too, though I wear them with the the black divers bands which still seem readily available as replacements. However, after all, I think the Yellow dial model is still the coolest.

Take it from a watch freak who thinks the bigger the better, if you're into the divers style in watches, you'll come to like the size and heft of this Casio and its tough indesructability and maybe come to think too that is one of the greatest of all time.

5-0 out of 5 stars I can finally buy a new one after 10 years
I have had this watch since 1994 (Ten Years) and it finally stopped working. This watch has been through more than most people will do in a life time.If you are looking for a watch that is going to last, this is the one.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Duckman
Watch is beautiful and looks good in an adventurous or casual environment with it's gold face.It is a bit heavier than many sport watches (i.e. Casio, Suunto, etc.) with resin bands. As far as the resin band, it tends to split after months of use necessitating replacement.I've owned two of these watches in five years and have cycled through 6 watchbands.

Overall, the watch is a good value, and even after battery replacements waterproof integrity has not been compromised.

Give us a more durable band Casio. If you did this, the AMW320D-9EV Analog/Digital Watch would be a superlative watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've had two
After replacing the battery for the second time (they last about 3-4 years), my watch had a moisture problem and I couldn't get the fog out of it... the o-ring probably wasn't sealed well.So I gave that one up and bought another just like it.I've had this one for about 4 years now and still think its the perfect watch. It has the digital window with dates, alternate times, and stop watch yet still has an attractive traditional watch style. The only drawback to the standard features is the band...I've found that it lasts only about a year and a half before it breaks...you will definitely want to get a fabric sports band when the stock one gives out. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional EVERYTHING -- in short, BUY THIS NOW!
Like many others, I have been a LOYAL Casio fan ever since a friend of mine who was working to become an Underwater Parabolic Welder tell me about 'the toughest watch known to man'.He proceeded to pull the watch off his wrist and throw it as hard as he could on his concrete driveway.I hardly had any time to react before he finished, picked it up and showed me how it had suffered no damage whatsoever (other than a couple of scratches). This was 1987.I have been a Casio Believer ever since.

I have owned I don't know HOW many G-Shock watches over the years and the number has nothing to do with how long they last, I just like to collect 'em so I happen to have several that I still use.My oldest model dates back to probably 1989, and is still going strong by the way. When people say the Casio G-Shock is the toughest watch in the world, they are simply stating a FACT.Recently I have been noticing in reports from Iraq that virtually every US Soldier are wearing G-Shocks.Is it an endorsement?Who knows? All I know is that if these watches can withstand combat conditions, it'll survive anything I can dish out.

Now Casio has finally designed a watch which looks as good at a formal dinner as it does while mountain climbing. Some think that it will never truly *look* quite formal, but I totally disagree. It looks good! The size doesn't matter since I love a good solid watch regardless of size.Do NOT be fooled that because this model can receive signals from the atomic clock in Colorado and is powered by simple sunlight that the watch is HUGE, and that just isn't the case.I know several wrist watches that are just as large and offer much less bang for the buck.Sure, you can shop around to get the best possible price and you may get anywhere from a good deal to a great deal -- but one thing is certain: it is WORTH the prize no matter WHAT you pay.Absolute accuracy, never replace the battery and great looks...what more IS there??

When you hear that a G-Shock watch is tough, unless you are already familiar with their durability, you won't fully understand until you've had a chance to test drive one for a while. My first atomic/solar G-Shock (yes, I own more than one) is going on 3 years old now and only once did the charge fall below 'HIGH' and that was simply because I had stuffed it on my closet shelf for about 3 weeks...and then it was only down to 'Medium'.Casual wear every day will keep the battery at full charge.I can't SWEAR to that, but if this helps any, I wear mine about every 2-3 days and it still shows a full charge. All I can say is this: if you are torn between buying a durable watch to wear while hiking and buying a ridiculously expensive model for formal situations, save yourself and get just this one.Good luck and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kicks ass
Tough watch.I've got the MTG 9200A (metal band, gun-metal finish).Love the fact that it synchronizes with the atomic clock...can't go wrong with that.Looks good on my wrist.Pretty much indestructible.I've owned G-Shocks before, so I'm already a convert.Only had it for a few months, but battery appears to hold charge fairly well (I'm able to get it out in the sun for at least a couple of hours a day).Heard that some people have had problems with the watch holding a charge after a year or so...guess that I'll have to see what happens when I get there.I don't use the "auto-backlight" function, so that probably saves some juice there.Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific watch...
I have been a G-shock owner for over 15 years. I have also owned some other brands (Swiss Army, Pulsar, Citizen) and those were some good watches but I always come back to the GShock.

There are several reasons why I like this model of G-shock:

1. G Shock's can never really be considered classy, but this comes a little closer to that designation. I love the steel band and the silver appearance of the watch. It is a watch you can wear hiking (and not be worried that you will break it) and to a night out on the town.

2. Discussion buzz--Few watches can you spend time in a group discussing but this is one watch you can do that with...people are immediately drawn to it because of its appearance (size and color) and it is cool to discuss all the things that this watch can do.

3. Solar--I am tired of replacing batteries in a watch...no need to with this watch.

4. Atomic TimeKeeping--I love how the time is accurate every day. No adjusting. Very cool.

5. Time Zones--If you are traveling quite a bit, it is nice to be able to simply scroll through the time zones and find your location. Nice feature.

Overall--I enjoy this watch because of its functions and its appearance. I also like explaining this watch to other people. This is a great watch...to steal Siskel and Ebert's line, 2 thumbs up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased so far
So far, everything has worked perfectly. When it got to me in the box, it was still at the second highest carge level, and had calibrated 3-4 days ago.Once out, it calibrated the first night and every night since (I am on the east coast).I like how it looks and it seems well built. If you are like me and like to always have the correct time, I recommend it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Coolest Watch Ever!
Today I found the iPod of wristwatches, which is far more useful to me than an iPod, since neither one plays .OGG files (that's geek humour). What I like most about it is the simple, fast, quick, intuitive method for setting a variety of alarms. Although it's a digital watch, almost everything is done via a scrolly-wheel, like old-school analog watches. Words cannot describe how useful it all is, but I will try.

It's got spaces for 10 countdown timers, 10 appointments (mini-PDA), variable interval alarms, etc. The way you access them is great: click mode twice, and you're at the countdown timer screen (with your most recently used countdown timer selected). Scroll the scrolly-wheel to navigate through the ten available, click start on one you want to start. If you don't see a timer that matches what you need, pull out the scrolly wheel, and you're instantly in "set" mode. Twiddle up or down to increment / decrement, put scrolly-wheel back in, and press start. Bam. You've now set a reminder to:

* not miss your next meeting.
* check when baking a cake.
* not mess around too long on the internet, at the store, etc.

Need to start another timer? Twiddle scrolly-wheel to find appropriate one, click start.

Invited to a Superbowl party on Sunday? Mush the mode button until you see APPT. Find empty appointment spot. Pull out scrolly-wheel, twiddle time in 5-minute increments. Push start button and get prompted for "remind $n minutes/hours before". Pull out scrolly-wheel even farther (it has two "out" settings), and all of a sudden you can scrolly-wheel back and forth through upcoming days (to set it for Sunday). Push scrolly-wheel back in, you're done.

Plus the thing will keep track of your excercise times on a weekly basis so you can see how long you've been excercising. Mush over to the TRAINING LOG screen, twiddle scrolly-wheel, and you're reviewing total accumulated times on a week-by-week basis (you store those times into the LOG via the chronometer). Brilliant!

It's really designed for excercise geeks, but I think it's going to work out great for a computer geek, probably would work well for lawyer / sales geeks too. Another neat thingy is it has a count-up, count-down counter too. Like if you wanted to do a pushup, then push the button to record it, then do another, record it, etc. I think you're supposed to use it for longer-term things (like laps, days of exercise per week, etc), but you get the point. You could work gate admissions or be a bouncer/fire-marshal with this thing. Simply amazing! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Watch
One of the things that I like best about this watch is the fact that it is not this massive bulk of plastic on my wrist. It is still kind of plastic looking, but it is thinner than any other atomic watches that I was looking at. The wrist band is just a strip of velcro but I actually like it better than my old leather band because I work on a computer and my old band did not flex very well. The one thing that did concern me was that one time I accidently changed the time while working on my car (the buttons got pushed in by accident). For the next several days it would never re-sync no matter what I would do. I manually reset it to within 30 seconds of my wall atomic clock so it was not a big deal... the watch still keeps good time, but the principle of having a atomic watch bothered me. It had always re-synced every night even though I lived in a basement apartment! During the week that it didn't re-sync, I tried everything from putting in on top of my wall atomic clock to leaving it on a window sill facing west towards CO. I finally gave up and was about to call Timex when one night, in the basement, sitting on my dresser, the watch re-synced and has been ever since. I am not sure why it didn't re-sync for a week or why it suddenly started; but the point is that it doesn't need to re-sync every single night. Just be patient.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good watch for the price
I was looking for an inexpensive watch that sets itself via US Atomic Clock signal and found it in this watch.I love the indiglo light feature. The face does get scratched up a bit if you bang it against stuff.I like the cloth band with velcro.Being cloth, the band does absorb sweat so it will need to be washed with mild soap periodically. Not a bad watch at all.

4-0 out of 5 stars Set and forget watch that's accurate
I am looking for a set and forget watch. This Timex 1440 Atomic synced to the National Bureau of Standards in Ft. Collins, CO is one that keeps accurate time and has a calendar that remembers all the leap years, time zones with Daylight time, etc.I considered a Casio Atomic Solar but it was huge compared to a Timex.

I guess the ultimate would be the German made JungHans Atomic Solar but that's listed at $400 plus.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent time-piece
Nice looking watch, and I'm looking for my nephew a good, sturdy watch. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tough watch
My boyfriend had an older model of this watch that he wore for work and play for years. He wore it while fighting forest fires and fishing in the PNW, and it held up great.I bought this watch for him as a Christmas gift, and he loved it.It looks great, is comfotable and was reasonably priced.Hopefully it has the lasting power of his previous one. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Great watch but battery died too soon
I used it for about 10 months before the battery died. While it was working it was five stars - nice looks, feels good on your wrist and easy night glow button. I especially appreciated having the compass feature. I tested it in northern, southern hemispheres as well as right on the equator and it proved itself to be very accurate. What impressed me the most was that I didn't even have tocalibrate it as recommended.

What was not so nice was that after 10 month of intensive usage (including alarm and night light on to remind ourselves to feed the newlyborn) the battery gave out. We went in to two nearby jewellers to have the battery replaced. Helaas, they couldn't do it because the battery replacement process was too hard. I listed it on eBay for parts then.

4-0 out of 5 stars a cool compass watch
The digital compass: the digital compss is functioning well and very useful for me since I easily lost direction. it's especially useful when I need to know which direction a window is facing in new houses. the calibration needs some efforts since it has to be done in outdoor and you need to keep the watch level and rotate it twice.

The disadvantage of the compass: you have to push the heading button to show the direction, and if you change direction, you need to push it again to show the new direction. the direction is not automatically updated when you change direction, therefore you cannot use it when driving. also you have to keep the face of the watch level when you use the compass, otherwise the direction is not correct. any way I still like the digital compass very much. also it has a cool compass dial which you can rotate so that you can know all directions.

Other functions: the stop watch, timer and alarm function is fine.

The display is clear at day time, even under direct light. In the darkness it is also clear by using the indiglo light.

The appearance: the brown and green color of the wrist band feels a little out-dated but it's ok. the watch itself is a little too large.

In a summary, it's a cool compass watch.

4-0 out of 5 stars Grate product
The watch is grate. The only thing I am confuised about is the compuss but if you know how to use it ,it works grate

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT WATCH FOR THE PRICE!
This Timex watch is great.I have used it for several months now.I don't seem to think the display is light.I use this watch at school most of the time.It also works well in water. It doesn't seem that you have to push hard for the indiglo to work at all; it seems fine.Timex has always stood up to their slogan, It takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Watch but could have been better
Received this watch a about a week back. Here is what I feel so far:
Compass: After initial calibration, the compass works great. Its really easy & fun to use.
Display: Display is not that bright without the Indiglo light. So in low light conditions or with indoor lighting you may have trouble seeing it.
Indiglo light: Works great at night, when you press the light button hard enough. There is a night time mode as well, where it will light up using any button. The night time mode only lasts for 7 hours. After that it goes back to day time mode. I wish there was some way to keep the night time mode on all the time.
Stop Watch/Timers: Stop Watch and Timer works great. You can start and stop various laps, though I don't have much use for it.
Overall:
Great watch for the price. The Display needs to be a little brighter. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great combo watch with ability to hide digital
Great combo digital/analog watch for the price point. All the functions you need time,time2,date,seconds,chrono w/lap, countdown with 3 stages, alarm 1&2. Analog has easy to see hands with a second hand sweep in orange. Indiglo on digital only. Big complaint: no hourly chime!!! I need this feature. However, the watch allows you to turn off the digital display, which hides any trace of digital display... making it look like a normal analog watch. Very nice for transforming the look from "sport" to "more dressy". ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sharp -- technically advanced & VERY useful...
I am a watch collector, and in many instances, the bigger the better, and it truly IS difficult to find a timepiece bigger than your average Suunto Wristop Computer (other than the Observer). But despite its size, the Vector is quite comfortable on my wrist. It doesn't seem too bulky, and I know that sounds impossible to believe -- especially once you see the beast for the first time, but its true.

If you are an avid outdoor person, whether you're into hiking, mountain climbing or just a regular fisherman, you simply should NOT leave home without a device like this.First off it has a highly accurate digital altimeter, which admittedly needs regular calibration, but as long as you keep close track of what it says, you should have no trouble keeping up on exactly where you are above (or below) sea level.Next up is another widely under-used tool, a digital barometer.Sure it may SEEM intimidating -- at FIRST, but spend a few minutes closely reading the instruction manual, and you should have it down fairly quickly.I wouldn't say you could bet your life on the accuracy of this barometer, but it IS a LOT closer to predicting the real weather than any meteorologist I've ever encountered.I'd say it was around 80% correct -- and when was the last time you could say that about your local weatherman, huh? Also, the barometer features a built-in thermometer. Now again, for a totally correct temp reading you must take the watch off your wrist for about 15 minutes first, and as far as I am aware, all watches that feature this function must be done the same way, so keep that in mind before you look at your watch and declare it's 90 degrees when it is more likely 75.Finally the last nifty gadget crammed into this watch is a highly accurate digital compass.Once calibrated (and once again you may need to re-calibrate once-a-week or so to be spot-on) this compass gives you great assistance, especially for the avid hikers out there who rely on map reading in unfamiliar territory.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, it also can tell the time...it has an alarm and even a stopwatch. What will they think of next? The ONLY reason why the Vector received 4 stars instead of 5 is because despite how GOOD this timepiece really is, it really SHOULD have come with crystal or glass rather than a plastic face.I have the Suunto X-Lander which is pretty much a clone of the Vector built inside an aluminum body rather than plastic and comes with a mineral crystal face. The one thing the X-Lander is missing that the Vector has is the tiny bubble in the upper right of the watch face which is invaluable in taking accurate readings by knowing how level you are.REALLY helpful.I dunno, maybe it isn't possible to put a bubble inside of the glass face, but if it IS possible, they ought to think about doing that sometime soon.

One more thing: the various colors you can find the Vector help to make it as much an accessory to your hiking outfit as an invaluable tool needed for a safe trek.I personally like the yellow the best, but I was surprised at how cool the Khaki face looked, so I went ahead with that one.

All in all, if you are looking for something that will combine the incredible usefulness that the Vector has in such a small package, I would definitely say Suunto has another winner on their hands...or on their wrists, so to speak.Outstanding product.

5-0 out of 5 stars suunto vector
