The Good and The Bad
I have had three of these watches in the last 6 years.They come on sale at the kmart near my house for 20 dollars.First off, it should be said that I am pretty rough with my watches.I have had both experiences as described by other reviewers.The first one I bought lasted for a while and took quite a beating.The second one, the battery died very quickly (less than 2 months) and then when i treied to replace the battery (a very hard thing to do on this watch), I ended up breaking it beyond repair.The third one still works, but the little metal rod that holds the strap onto the watch will not stay in place.I came here to see how much they are going for now, but all i really need is that little metal thing that holds the strap to the watch.This third watch has been functioning fine for about a year.

Best Watch I've Ever Had!
I have had my Expidition for maybe 2 years now.I have not had any problems except for scratching the glass face against a brick wall, but that is my own fault.I am pretty tough on my watches, I never take it off.I highly recomend the Expidition.

Stopped Working
I have to agree 100% with Jim Socal from CA, USA's review. I've had this watch for less than 2 months & ALL the buttons have stopped working. So as of now the ONLY thing that is STILL working is the hands. I am very disappointed in Timex for building this obviously substandard piece of crap ( or at least allowing their name to be put on it. ). My last watch was a Timex & it lasted for over 10 years & several motorcycle accidents! And BTW-- This new watch was never even bumped before it suddenly stopped working! IF you still want to buy this watch I hope you have better luck than Jim & I had.

Might work, if you can figure out how; but mine didn't
I bought this watch based on Timex's (formerly, at least) good name. (Do you know it is now made in Thailand or somewhere like that?) First of all, the instructions were ludicrous to try and figure out how to set the alarm, use the Timer, and other features. I am NOT one of those guys who can't program his VCR. In fact, I can build web sites and use any software program you give me. The fact is, these instructions aren't even RIGHT! Then, by trial and error (forget the instructions) I finally got the time and alarm set and working. Then, the next day, the thing just froze on the -2nd time zone- screen, and I could not get it to go back to any other screen! Needless to say I returned it, and will NOT buy another TImex, ever! Too bad, they were once a great watch company! At least they should get an American who speaks English to write their instructions! I bought a Casio, the instructions were EASY to follow, and it works just fine, thank you!

Great Watch, Great Price... Get One Before They're All Gone
I have been through a few watches in my life. I am fairly rough on them – banging against objects and scratching them up. Years ago, I swore by Seiko until I noticed the batteries were difficult to replace. These days, Timex is all I will buy – great price, superior accuracy and you can find the batteries at virtually any department store (like Target.) After ordering online, I received this item a few days ago in excellent condition via UPS. I had it programmed and set in a matter of minutes. A watch with potential. Not quite the same as advertised!
The strap/links on these G-Shocks are quite oversized; when I first got it, I could fit the watch around my legs! (You'll most likely have to get the links adjusted). Ironically, the four side buttons on the watch is small, so even if you have a huge wrist, you'll probably have trouble pressing the buttons! (Not for huge fingers)

***BEWARE*** the picture shows the four side buttons on the watch in silver, but the left and right side buttons on this model is actually plain black! It is a quite misleading... the silver side button is actually the MTG920DJ model (which is the 2005 version). According to Casio, the MTG920DA was actually released in 2004 with black side buttons. If you search the Casio website, it will only display the MTG920DJ (their most recent version) - most websites that still sell the MTG920DA are just taking the latest MTG920DJ version picture from Casio's website. The MTG920DJ seems to have the same features as this one (MTG920DA), except the four side (left and right) buttons are in silver.

For those of you wondering about the three circles on the watch:
the first one on the very left is basically a wannabe-analog display - basically, every five minutes, a bar increases (or decreases when it gets full)... it's basically just there for cosmetic reasons.

The second one in the middle is the battery status; it has an L (Low), M (Medium), and H (High) and the bar would display in one of those areas. If you get out in the sun a lot or know an area in your home where the sun shines a lot, then you won't have a problem with the battery ever going below High. Moreover, it has a power saving feature; the watch will go into sleep mode (display off) when it is in a completely dark area for a long time.

Finally, the third circle on the very right is where it tells you what options are enabled/disabled. It shows SPL (split time for stopwatch), DST (Daylight Saving Time), SIG (Hourly Signal), ALM (Alarm), SNZ (Snooze), and Auto EL (Automatic Electro-Luminescent backlight - the backlight turns on by tilting it a certain degree towards your face without having to manually press the backlight button.)

Overall, this watch is attractive and fun to wear. The atomic radio signal feature is very cool - being able to have the official time is great. This watch does have a lot of feature - except, it's a pity it doesn't have a countdown timer!

Also, try to research other models instead of finding out the hard way (like I did about the side buttons) before purchasing.

band-aid
I don't have this exact watch, but I have an ironman of the same style (lacks the heart monitor).There are two faults:
1.)The way the band attaches to the watch body is weak.Mine held for about 6 months before the band detached from the watch body.I have not been able to re-seat the band to the watch body.
2.)There is no rim to protect the watch face from scratching.

Shame, because I like the watch:
* open, breathable, and fast drying quality of the band
* the large digits (easy to read under water)
But even 2 stars is much for a watch that had a 6mo lifespan.Perhaps others will have better luck with the band.

Great watch but a bad description by Amazon
This watch is a very nice timepiece.The only disappointing thing is that Amazon is selling a watch that they know nothing about.The watch has a Japanese Chronograph movement, not a swiss-quartz.And the band does not come with a double-locking deployment buckle like it says, it comes with a double-locking diver buckle.Overall I am pleased with the watch.I just hope Amazon can advertise their products a little bit better. ...
