    Amazon.com Product Description

Eminently masculine, the Invicta Automatic Pro Diver G3 watch harkens back to a nostalgic time with its classically styled features. This precisely constructed Swiss timepiece for men features a solid stainless steel case that's 43mm wide (1.7 inches). It has a black face with Tritnite luminous hands and markers and a unidirectional black bezel with white numerals and markings. Other features include anti-reflective mineral crystal, date display at 3 o'clock, and water resistance to 200 meters. The highly polished stainless steel band has a diver buckle with safety clasp.

An automatic watch is a mechanical watch that is self-winding. the movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor--a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism--to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels, which are ruby stones that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. An automatic watch needs no battery, but it will stop if now worn for over a day or if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time. If this happens, wind the crown ten times clockwise to start the watch and give it some reserve power. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Feels and looks like a $1,000 watch!
I adjusted the metal band to fit my arm as soon as I received the yellow "INVICTA" box. This operation required a awol the size of a 6d nail and was fairly easy.
Swatch does not hold a candle to this watch in terms of pricing. $100 priced Swatches feel light and fragile. Invicta instead made a rugged and stilish looking watch for $100.
The face is a huge 43mm and it looks and feels manly. It is easy to read the date display thanks to the enlarging lense placed over it: I have been praying for this feature in less expensive watches for the past four years.

All in all: this is a beautiful piece for short money. I will now see how it keeps time and write about it in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value, excellent product
This looks & feels like a much more expensive watch than 100 bucks.Very well built and heavy, quality throughout. It's also a good way to see if you care for the automatic movement enough to move up later, sort of a "starter" watch before investing in a pricier watch like an Omega or Oris.Very nice. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Dive Watch
I've been a fan of divers watches since college days. I first ran across a Seiko 150m model about 1988 and I've since come to regard this SKX173 200m as THE classic dive watch. Not only is it great for water activities and sports, but it's also great for dry land functions such as telling time and looking cool.

The automatic mechanical power isn't just some outmoded watch technology from the past. It's fascinating to have this intricate and accurate time-machine on your wrist. And the auto-winding mechanism is a real plus. If, like me, you find yourself the owner of muliple watches in these days of expensive batteries for quartz models, replacing power cells can become a high-priced hassle. All you have to do is wear this watch and move around normally and it runs without a thought. The only downer for me is that I want to give my other watch models some wrist time too, so then things tend to run down. But then, just pick it up, set it, strap it on, and off you go.I have always found it quite accurate enough for my ordinary time-keeping purposes.

One of the classic and attractive feature of diver watches is the rotator elapsed time bezel. If you like the countdown timer feature on your digital watch, this rotator simply does the same thing in an analog way.Just turn the 0 indicator to the presetnt postion of the minute or second hand and WATCH (yes, pun intended) how much time goes by.There is also a a version of this elapsed time ring in red (from 0 to 20 secs.) and blue (from 20 to 60 secs.). If you want a slightly different dive-watch look, I've found that these replacement rotators are readily available on the net.

The jet-black face makes for a bold, easy-to-see-at-a-glance contrast with the square-cut hour markers andattention-grabbing hour and minute indicators.Another plus here is long lasting glow in the dark visibility. Some other brand's marine model I've got has markers that fade to invisibility after an hour or so in the dark. You can tell time on this watch all night long and even, I suppose, in murky water. There's even a luminous dot at 0 secs. on the elapsed time rotator.

The 22 cm. black rubber waterproof strap, held in place by heavy duty, industrial strength spring pins, makes a great looking match with this steel and black watch. And apparently Seiko diver straps are indestructable.Other rubber straps seem to be programmed to serve their brief time and then self-destruct.But even the band I've used on my Seiko 150m for 16 or 17 years shows no sign of cracking or breaking. After wearing this watch for a while the heavy strap seemed to mold itself to the size and shape of my wrist. It just sort of makes itself at home on your arm.

The steel case has a great look of solidity and a pleasant heftiness. It's big (42 cm across) but not geeky big, just the right size and weight to project a certain masculine handsomeness. A nice design touch is the position of the crown at 4:00 instead of the usual 3:00, not only a nice and noticeable difference, but it doesn't cut into the back of your hand in case of hard work or heavy lifting (one of my favorite watches to wear to the gym).BTW, the crown is only for stetting the time and date, as it's not needed as a winder.

In case you can't tell, I really like this watch. So much so that I also got the more recent model SKXA35 with the bright yellow dial (See it on Amazon. Really cool too!)as well as an earlier model with a rounder shaped case and lugs, a style from the early 1970's.

With the quality and durability of this SKX173, you're in for some long-term watch fun and interested comments like. "Great watch! Where'd you get it, on the net?"

Good price and good deal too.Hey, man, go for it.Get this watch!

5-0 out of 5 stars I cant believe this watch has no Ratings
When I'm wanting to dress down but want a quality time piece...I take off my Omega and put this watch on...Japanese movement rivals that of swiss...I've owned this watch for ten years and It still looks new...If you are starting a collection and want some japanese pieces in it then this is a great place to start....it is a collectors Item.....buy with confidence!...... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional watch
I bought this watch in 2001 shortly after it was introduced. As a naval officer, it has proven to be invaluable as I find myself in different time zones with some frequency.I set up a custom time zone for where my wife was and with a simple look at the face knew if I'd be waking her up if I called.
It served as my alarm clock aboard ship and having three alarms is particularly useful.I use the UTC dial daily since the military often operates on "zulu" time.
Charging occurs without a thought and the watch holds time well.
I've worked-out, showered, snorkeled, and generally beat up this watch and it stills works fine. Also worn it to weddings.
I'm considering buying the new "rubberized" version to have one to use for more casual activities.
I probably need to have the watch cleaned and serviced since the dials and buttons now stick a bit and it's harder to set alarms.
Overall -best watch I've ever owned. Can't think of anything I need from the watch or anything I don't really use.Superb.

4-0 out of 5 stars UTC a great feature
This watch was originally intended as a pilots watch and I think it fills this role wonderfully. The comments in the other review are valid, except I'd say UTC is a 'must have' feature in a pilots watch (all air traffic control is done in UTC time).

4-0 out of 5 stars Great watch but not perfect
I got this watch as a gift and its perfect since i travel a lot around the world.

    PROS -
    - definitely recommend the titanium version. this is a big watch and steel could be heavy. worth the 40$ price diff.
    - nice clean look (steel grey) goes with business and casual attire.
    - the solar powered battery is great and charging works very well.
    - Switching analog dial between time zones is real easy.
    - Two alarms, timer, stop watch etc.

    CONS:
    - An annoying quirk is that you cannot set time zones that are in 1/2 hr intervals. eg: places in south asia, canada etc.
    - the UTC dial is pretty much useless. and takes up space on the watch face.
    - the time zones are coordinated together. eg: in Italy they have daylight savings a week earlier than the US. but if i set the italian time forward, the US time also sets forward.
    - The analog dial CANNOT be set independently. It only follows the digital time set in one of the time zones.

In summary, the waqtch is nice, but some small changes could really make it perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars All-time great watch!
OK, I admit it.I'm a hopeless watch junkie.I like to wear my share of divers watches, digital watches, chronographs, pilot and military watches, oversized watches, multi-function watches, if fact, any watch that's high in the coolness factor. What can I say; watches are fun.

But sometimes the occasion or the mood calls for a watch that's just simple and solid. This down-to-earth Seiko is often just the one I want.I guess what I like is that it's both a classic and an up-to-date time machine. The steel band and case with a simple jet-black dial is a timeless watch design and yet it is right in sync with the contemporary look of the silver-tone, dark-face look that "everybody's wearing" in the men's watch fashion department these days.I really like the simple stick marker dial accented only by the black-on-black date window. This is a watch I don't get bored with or tired of.

And for reliability, you can hardly go wrong with a Seiko.I've had this watch for a couple of years now and with its quartz accuracy, I don't think I ever have to set it except at the twice a year change to and from daylight time. My experience of owning several quartz Seikos, some for quite a few years, is that there's not a lot of maintenance other than a battery change now and then and if you need service it's easy to get.But you probably know all that.

Bottom line: here's a watch that looks great and works great.Bet you'll like it as much as I do.

4-0 out of 5 stars My name is Bond.....James Bond
Yeah, yeah, yeah.....I know, I know, I know.....Bond wears a Seamaster and before that a Rolex Submariner.....

I just received this watch as a gift from my wife in honor of our anniversary and although I have not had a chance to delve into all of its features yet, I am already extremely thrilled about this watch. I don't travel a lot internationally but I do have many international business contacts which require careful considerations with respect to time differences. I used to go on the internet to check the world time before phoning them, now I just push a few buttons on my watch and I'll know what time it is anywhere in the world at my conveniece.

Another reviewer said the watch's weight might be a concern, but frankly, I rather relish it. As my parents used to say, "If it's heavy, it's probably expensive."

4-0 out of 5 stars A great Watch with lots of good features
I own several other Citizen watches and except for one irritating detail, this is my favorite. The clasp on this watch stinks. It is difficult to put on and as opposed to the typical foldover type clasps it has very little adjustibility. The foldovers allow you to adjust in small increments, but on this watch it's a full link or nothing, probably a good 1/4" or so. This is the reason I gave it only 4 stars. Other iterations (Blue Angels etc.) of this watch with the stainless or titanium bands may be of the conventional foldover clasps. I haven't seen any of these in person.

It's a fairly heavy watch so if this is not to your liking you may want to opt for one of the titanium versions

The timer and alarm functions are great and easy to use. I bought it primarily for the time zone feature and this works great unless you are looking for one of those weird 1/2 hr time zones. You are able to add one city/timezone that you can input a 3 letter abbreviation for the city and the time offset from GMT/UTC. I wish you were able to add more of your own and delete some of the other preset cities but this is not a showstopper.

The rotating dial-sliderule does work but I doubt that I will use it much. It does look good, however. Overall it is an attractive and functional watch. I really like the solar power feature. It keeps very accurate time.

A tip when setting the time:
Synchronize the SECONDS with an accurate time source, and then proceed to change the hr. and minute times. The seconds keep ticking while you are setting the hr. and minute. Just make sure you ae getting the minute set correctly in relation to where the seconds are. (Harder to write than to do.) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars No maintenance, accurate to the second, rugged, WOW!
This is the best all around watch I've ever owned, and I'm a watch nerd.I had one of the first commercially available digital watches that were anywhere near affordable -- sometime around 1975 or so.It was a small brick with a blinking cursor and little else.Batteries lasted a year or so and you only had to set the time every few months.Since then, I've had dozens of watches with a variety of features.Frankly, I love watches.

But, I've never loved a watch and respected a watch like this one. What more can you ask of a watch? It keeps perfect time, thanks to the atomic clock signal from Fort Collins Colorado. It never needs batteries, thanks to the solar charging panels. It can be worn anywhere all the time, thanks to the shock resistance feature and the 200 meter water resistance. What's more, it looks great on your arm and offers not only the time, but the day of the week and the date at a glance.

Want to see the time after dark?Use the high luminescence back light. No hand free to push the button?Set the backlight to come on automatically when you tilt your wrist to 40 degrees toward your face.

Don't worry if you want to leave it in your sock drawer for a week or so.It preserves battery charge by by blanking the display automatically after an hour of darkness and springs back to life when the light hits it again.

This is a thinking watch that has one thing in mind --- doing what you bought it for.I'm tempted to buy another to make sure I can replace it if I ever lose it.That would be a tragedy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most complete timepiece on the planet
If you like your watches to be pretty or analog, there is a good chance you may not like this watch. If you want a mens timepiece that is rugged, accurate, and requires no attention from you to remain so - EVER - it does not get any better than this.

This model (Casio MTG-930DA), combines rugged stainless steelconstruction, low power consumption, a very excellant solar charging system, and automatic synchonization with the National Institute of Science and Technology's atomic time standard in Fort Collins, Colorado. You will never need to set this watch if you live with in 2000 miles of Denver (unless you live in a missle silo). It also has an electro-luminescent back light with cleaver "twist of the wrist" activation, a stop-watch (of course), 4 alarms, and several other features most of us will never use.

You should count on paying a local watch shop/jeweler to adjust the band and do the initial timezone/preferences set up on it for you (unless you have some specialized tools and a desire to read a fairly technical manual - I did but I'm a geek). My local Casio watch retailer charged me $5 to adjust the band (I gave him $20 'cause I was ashamed that I had not bought the watch from him in the first place).

The negatives: I could wish this watch were more beautiful.Certainly, its electronics is small enough to put in a more refined "dress" chassis.I, for one, would happily pay a premium for such a model. Also, the MTG's buttons are quite stiff and recessed. This makes them a little difficult to use, particularly for the stop watch functions.All-in-all however, I cannot deduct any stars for these - where it counts, this product possitively shines.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great looking watch and it does a great job...
I have been a G-shock owner for over 15 years.I have also owned some other brands (Swiss Army, Pulsar, Citizen) and those were some good watches but I always come back to the GShock.

There are several reasons why I like this model of G-shock:

    1. G Shock's can never really be considered classy, but this comes a little closer to that designation.I love the steel band and the silver appearance of the watch. It is a watch you can wear hiking (and not be worried that you will break it) and to a night out on the town.

    2. Discussion buzz--Few watches can you spend time in a group discussing but this is one watch you can do that with...people are immediately drawn to it because of its appearance (size and color) and it is cool to discuss all the things that this watch can do.

    3. Solar--I am tired of replacing batteries in a watch...no need to with this watch.

    4. Atomic TimeKeeping--I love how the time is accurate every day.No adjusting.Very cool.

    5. Time Zones--If you are traveling quite a bit, it is nice to be able to simply scroll through the time zones and find your location.Nice feature.

Overall--I enjoy this watch because of its functions and its appearance.I also like explaining this watch to other people. This is a great watch...to steal Siskel and Ebert's line, 2 thumbs up!

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid, accurate, some nice features
PROs: Dressy - Looks expensive and classy
Solar powered. I leave mine on the dresser and it's always fully charged.
Perfect accuracy. I live in Texas and it picks up the signal every night
Indiglo. Recessed button below watchface easy to find when needed, but not pushed accidentally.
    Stopwatch
    Waterproof.
CONs: The model I have (MTG-900ST) does have the 'databank'. Its worthless. It records 30 times you push a button.
    No countdown timer.
I don't get how to use the snooze alarm.
No text with alarms to remind you of why you set it. I sometimes set alarms weeks in advance.
    --
Overall - Its a great looking, solidly built, accurate dependable watch with most of the features you could ask for. I'm happy with mine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid watch with useful features
Since I purchased mine over 14 months ago, I am happy with my Ironman. I selected this watch for the Flix feature which allows the wearer to activate the Indiglo light by a flick of the wrist (no button pushing!). This featue really works. Interestingly enough it is "smart" enought to come on when purposefully flicked but stays off during other movements such as running or active sports.

I also bought this Ironman model for the traditional rubber wrist strap. Alot of current models have either crappy non-replaceable rubber bands or woven nylon bands. I wore the stock band until the loop for securing the loose end of the strap broke. Ironically I replaced the band with an after-market nylon band.

The watch face has some scratches on it, but I have used it rather hard during outdoor sports and construction. Otherwise, the watch stands up to some serious use.

Function and timing features are typical Timex. 100 lap memory is nice, but I never use it. I do use the timer though with its repeating options, however.

Summarily, this watch is durable and loaded with useful features especially the Flix Indigo control. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Watch
I have owned the Casio DW-5600E G-Shock Classic Watch for the past 5 or more years now. I've worn it every day in every condition from mountain climbing to river rafting to scuba diving to business boardrooms and it has always functioned perfectly. It seems at home in every situation. I rely on the easy to use features such as the stopwatch, countdown timer and alarm. It is the only travel alarm I take on trips and it has never failed me yet. My watch gains about 1 minute per month, so every 3 months or so I set it back to keep the time as accurate as possible. I highly recommend this watch. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Product
I bought this watch several months ago and have been pleased with it since. It is quality as opposed to those watches you pay less for.One would naturally expect that but in this day and age paying more does not always equal more quality, but in this case it definitely does. The watch is heavy, and the strap is long enough for most any size wrist (no skimping on strap length) and rugged. In fact, this watch is probably made to wear underwater outside the wet/dry suit but it looks great above water in everyday life!I'm thinking already of buying the same watch in the other color (I have yellow and it is impressive, but it comes in another color as well--that's how much I like it). ...
