5-0 out of 5 stars Love this watch
The price is a steal at $74. I priced this watch on other online retailers and the lowest price I found was for $109, which was their "closeout" price. This watch looks even better in person.Versatile- can wear with any outfit, casual or formal and the two-tone band goes with anything. Love the watch and the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars I figured the wife deserved a really nice watch...
and this one has definitely fit the bill....she's probably never had such a sharp looking watch, especially since it is just the right size for her....once she opened it, and saw the classy styling and the super sturdy clasp, she fell in love with it ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Eminently masculine, the Invicta Automatic Pro Diver G3 watch harkens back to a nostalgic time with its classically styled features. This precisely constructed Swiss timepiece for men features a solid stainless steel case that's 43mm wide (1.7 inches). It has a black face with Tritnite luminous hands and markers and a unidirectional black bezel with white numerals and markings. Other features include anti-reflective mineral crystal, date display at 3 o'clock, and water resistance to 200 meters. The highly polished stainless steel band has a diver buckle with safety clasp.

An automatic watch is a mechanical watch that is self-winding. the movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor--a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism--to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels, which are ruby stones that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. An automatic watch needs no battery, but it will stop if now worn for over a day or if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time. If this happens, wind the crown ten times clockwise to start the watch and give it some reserve power. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Feels and looks like a $1,000 watch!
I adjusted the metal band to fit my arm as soon as I received the yellow "INVICTA" box. This operation required a awol the size of a 6d nail and was fairly easy.
Swatch does not hold a candle to this watch in terms of pricing. $100 priced Swatches feel light and fragile. Invicta instead made a rugged and stilish looking watch for $100.
The face is a huge 43mm and it looks and feels manly. It is easy to read the date display thanks to the enlarging lense placed over it: I have been praying for this feature in less expensive watches for the past four years.

All in all: this is a beautiful piece for short money. I will now see how it keeps time and write about it in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value, excellent product
This looks & feels like a much more expensive watch than 100 bucks.Very well built and heavy, quality throughout. It's also a good way to see if you care for the automatic movement enough to move up later, sort of a "starter" watch before investing in a pricier watch like an Omega or Oris.Very nice. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Dive Watch
I've been a fan of divers watches since college days. I first ran across a Seiko 150m model about 1988 and I've since come to regard this SKX173 200m as THE classic dive watch. Not only is it great for water activities and sports, but it's also great for dry land functions such as telling time and looking cool.

The automatic mechanical power isn't just some outmoded watch technology from the past. It's fascinating to have this intricate and accurate time-machine on your wrist. And the auto-winding mechanism is a real plus. If, like me, you find yourself the owner of muliple watches in these days of expensive batteries for quartz models, replacing power cells can become a high-priced hassle. All you have to do is wear this watch and move around normally and it runs without a thought. The only downer for me is that I want to give my other watch models some wrist time too, so then things tend to run down. But then, just pick it up, set it, strap it on, and off you go.I have always found it quite accurate enough for my ordinary time-keeping purposes.

One of the classic and attractive feature of diver watches is the rotator elapsed time bezel. If you like the countdown timer feature on your digital watch, this rotator simply does the same thing in an analog way.Just turn the 0 indicator to the presetnt postion of the minute or second hand and WATCH (yes, pun intended) how much time goes by.There is also a a version of this elapsed time ring in red (from 0 to 20 secs.) and blue (from 20 to 60 secs.). If you want a slightly different dive-watch look, I've found that these replacement rotators are readily available on the net.

The jet-black face makes for a bold, easy-to-see-at-a-glance contrast with the square-cut hour markers andattention-grabbing hour and minute indicators.Another plus here is long lasting glow in the dark visibility. Some other brand's marine model I've got has markers that fade to invisibility after an hour or so in the dark. You can tell time on this watch all night long and even, I suppose, in murky water. There's even a luminous dot at 0 secs. on the elapsed time rotator.

The 22 cm. black rubber waterproof strap, held in place by heavy duty, industrial strength spring pins, makes a great looking match with this steel and black watch. And apparently Seiko diver straps are indestructable.Other rubber straps seem to be programmed to serve their brief time and then self-destruct.But even the band I've used on my Seiko 150m for 16 or 17 years shows no sign of cracking or breaking. After wearing this watch for a while the heavy strap seemed to mold itself to the size and shape of my wrist. It just sort of makes itself at home on your arm.

The steel case has a great look of solidity and a pleasant heftiness. It's big (42 cm across) but not geeky big, just the right size and weight to project a certain masculine handsomeness. A nice design touch is the position of the crown at 4:00 instead of the usual 3:00, not only a nice and noticeable difference, but it doesn't cut into the back of your hand in case of hard work or heavy lifting (one of my favorite watches to wear to the gym).BTW, the crown is only for stetting the time and date, as it's not needed as a winder.

In case you can't tell, I really like this watch. So much so that I also got the more recent model SKXA35 with the bright yellow dial (See it on Amazon. Really cool too!)as well as an earlier model with a rounder shaped case and lugs, a style from the early 1970's.

With the quality and durability of this SKX173, you're in for some long-term watch fun and interested comments like. "Great watch! Where'd you get it, on the net?"

Good price and good deal too.Hey, man, go for it.Get this watch!

5-0 out of 5 stars I cant believe this watch has no Ratings
When I'm wanting to dress down but want a quality time piece...I take off my Omega and put this watch on...Japanese movement rivals that of swiss...I've owned this watch for ten years and It still looks new...If you are starting a collection and want some japanese pieces in it then this is a great place to start....it is a collectors Item.....buy with confidence!...... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional watch
I bought this watch in 2001 shortly after it was introduced. As a naval officer, it has proven to be invaluable as I find myself in different time zones with some frequency.I set up a custom time zone for where my wife was and with a simple look at the face knew if I'd be waking her up if I called.
It served as my alarm clock aboard ship and having three alarms is particularly useful.I use the UTC dial daily since the military often operates on "zulu" time.
Charging occurs without a thought and the watch holds time well.
I've worked-out, showered, snorkeled, and generally beat up this watch and it stills works fine. Also worn it to weddings.
I'm considering buying the new "rubberized" version to have one to use for more casual activities.
I probably need to have the watch cleaned and serviced since the dials and buttons now stick a bit and it's harder to set alarms.
Overall -best watch I've ever owned. Can't think of anything I need from the watch or anything I don't really use.Superb.

4-0 out of 5 stars UTC a great feature
This watch was originally intended as a pilots watch and I think it fills this role wonderfully. The comments in the other review are valid, except I'd say UTC is a 'must have' feature in a pilots watch (all air traffic control is done in UTC time).

4-0 out of 5 stars Great watch but not perfect
I got this watch as a gift and its perfect since i travel a lot around the world.

PROS -
- definitely recommend the titanium version. this is a big watch and steel could be heavy. worth the 40$ price diff.
- nice clean look (steel grey) goes with business and casual attire.
- the solar powered battery is great and charging works very well.
- Switching analog dial between time zones is real easy.
- Two alarms, timer, stop watch etc.

CONS:
- An annoying quirk is that you cannot set time zones that are in 1/2 hr intervals. eg: places in south asia, canada etc.
- the UTC dial is pretty much useless. and takes up space on the watch face.
- the time zones are coordinated together. eg: in Italy they have daylight savings a week earlier than the US. but if i set the italian time forward, the US time also sets forward.
- The analog dial CANNOT be set independently. It only follows the digital time set in one of the time zones.

In summary, the waqtch is nice, but some small changes could really make it perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars All-time great watch!
OK, I admit it.I'm a hopeless watch junkie.I like to wear my share of divers watches, digital watches, chronographs, pilot and military watches, oversized watches, multi-function watches, if fact, any watch that's high in the coolness factor. What can I say; watches are fun.

But sometimes the occasion or the mood calls for a watch that's just simple and solid. This down-to-earth Seiko is often just the one I want.I guess what I like is that it's both a classic and an up-to-date time machine. The steel band and case with a simple jet-black dial is a timeless watch design and yet it is right in sync with the contemporary look of the silver-tone, dark-face look that "everybody's wearing" in the men's watch fashion department these days.I really like the simple stick marker dial accented only by the black-on-black date window. This is a watch I don't get bored with or tired of.

And for reliability, you can hardly go wrong with a Seiko.I've had this watch for a couple of years now and with its quartz accuracy, I don't think I ever have to set it except at the twice a year change to and from daylight time. My experience of owning several quartz Seikos, some for quite a few years, is that there's not a lot of maintenance other than a battery change now and then and if you need service it's easy to get.But you probably know all that.

Bottom line: here's a watch that looks great and works great.Bet you'll like it as much as I do.

  • Triangle-shaped, light purple amethyst was believed to bring good luck and radiate love
  • Rectangle-shaped, grapefruit yellow citrine, named after the French word for lemon (citron), which was revered as a gift from the sun in ancient times and is one of two birthstones for November
  • Oval-shaped blue topaz, also a November birthstone, may have been named for the legendary Topasos Island in the Red Sea where the Romans excavated a stone fo this name (but which is now called chrysolite)

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than I hoped for
These were way better than I thought they would be.I really love every pair.In another review the person commented on the color of the garnet not being red enough but they really are as pictured.I was also worried that the earrings would be too heavy, but I forgot I even had them on until someone complemented me.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gemstone bargain!Treat yourself!
I bought this set for myself as a gift. Thank you, self!!!I was positively stunned when I opened the boxes. The only other sparklers I own are a pair of 1/4 ct. diamonds, and they are tiny.I really expected these stones to be tiny too, but they are big enough for the colors to be bright and clear.I wanted these for everyday wear with jeans, something to make me feel a little more special than the usual metal loops or studs. Indeed, I will wear them with jeans, but I can also see myself wearing these for dressy occasions. They are THAT pretty. Each pair comes in a separate box, so you could give one or two to a friend if you're feeling generous!

NOTE to New Agers:I'm into New Age culture, and I enjoying playing around with unconventional ideas, so I was also attracted to these gems for their New Age uses as well as for the fashion fun. So if you haven't tried wearing gemstones for their vibratory effects, you can't find a better bargain than 10 nicely faceted gemstones for this price.Check out this site regarding healing uses: www.annemeplon.com/meaning.htm

Why not treat yourself (to healing or just some happiness)?Hurry, before they run out. This set might brighten your day, as it did mine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Look as beautiful as in the pictures
This is the first time I ordered jewelry online, and I was prepared to be disappointed, considering you are getting 5 pairs of earings for about $40. Although the earrings looked beautiful in the pictures, I was thinking, well, they may look horrible in real (as many things you buy from online are). But I was totally surprised by how nice and beautiful these earrings are when I received them today. They look exactly like in the picture, and the gems are not small at all ( I was also expecting them to be tiny tiny gems). I especially like the peridot and the amethyst ones. Very nice color and shape. The garnet ones are not as red as I would have liked, but again, considering the price, they are worthy enough. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My name is Bond.....James Bond
Yeah, yeah, yeah.....I know, I know, I know.....Bond wears a Seamaster and before that a Rolex Submariner.....

I just received this watch as a gift from my wife in honor of our anniversary and although I have not had a chance to delve into all of its features yet, I am already extremely thrilled about this watch. I don't travel a lot internationally but I do have many international business contacts which require careful considerations with respect to time differences. I used to go on the internet to check the world time before phoning them, now I just push a few buttons on my watch and I'll know what time it is anywhere in the world at my conveniece.

Another reviewer said the watch's weight might be a concern, but frankly, I rather relish it. As my parents used to say, "If it's heavy, it's probably expensive."

4-0 out of 5 stars A great Watch with lots of good features
I own several other Citizen watches and except for one irritating detail, this is my favorite. The clasp on this watch stinks. It is difficult to put on and as opposed to the typical foldover type clasps it has very little adjustibility. The foldovers allow you to adjust in small increments, but on this watch it's a full link or nothing, probably a good 1/4" or so. This is the reason I gave it only 4 stars. Other iterations (Blue Angels etc.) of this watch with the stainless or titanium bands may be of the conventional foldover clasps. I haven't seen any of these in person.

It's a fairly heavy watch so if this is not to your liking you may want to opt for one of the titanium versions

The timer and alarm functions are great and easy to use. I bought it primarily for the time zone feature and this works great unless you are looking for one of those weird 1/2 hr time zones. You are able to add one city/timezone that you can input a 3 letter abbreviation for the city and the time offset from GMT/UTC. I wish you were able to add more of your own and delete some of the other preset cities but this is not a showstopper.

The rotating dial-sliderule does work but I doubt that I will use it much. It does look good, however. Overall it is an attractive and functional watch. I really like the solar power feature. It keeps very accurate time.

A tip when setting the time:
Synchronize the SECONDS with an accurate time source, and then proceed to change the hr. and minute times. The seconds keep ticking while you are setting the hr. and minute. Just make sure you ae getting the minute set correctly in relation to where the seconds are. (Harder to write than to do.) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect watch for everyday
Extremely reliable, easy to read, looks like the Rolex style, only it is very lightweight. Good for everyday use because you can wear either gold or silver jewelry with this watch. I would have given it 5 stars if it were one of those models which does not need a battery. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Product
I bought this watch several months ago and have been pleased with it since. It is quality as opposed to those watches you pay less for.One would naturally expect that but in this day and age paying more does not always equal more quality, but in this case it definitely does. The watch is heavy, and the strap is long enough for most any size wrist (no skimping on strap length) and rugged. In fact, this watch is probably made to wear underwater outside the wet/dry suit but it looks great above water in everyday life!I'm thinking already of buying the same watch in the other color (I have yellow and it is impressive, but it comes in another color as well--that's how much I like it). ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Should Be A Better Watch
My review closely follows "toughcrowd" who wrote an excellent and detailed review.

(...)

Remember that the bezel is bi-directional in keeping with the concept of the watch. There's no ratchet/spring device to keep it from moving around which for me was aggravating.

The background UTC and 24 hour subdials are ok with me but should have been designed better to allow for larger time markers. Given the choice I'd rather have larger markers than the two subdials which are not a necessity.

The digital clock/date window is too small and has black LCD figures on a gray background. It needs to be larger and the background color more contrasting with the digits for better visibility. It's hard to read the digital time or date even in daylight. The digital clock and date are useless at night due to no background light.

The time markers and hands do have illuminous coatings. But the hands and markers are so small that they are too dim at night. My experience was that the coatings only held light for a short time-certainly not overnight.

The lack of half-hour time adjustment is unfortunate but will only affect those in Newfoundland, Suriname, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, and Central Australia. Suriname, Iran and Sri Lanka are not on my travel list so this is almost inconsequential.

The alarm volume is way too low and not adjustable.

If you have a skinny wrist and have to take a few links out the watch may become uncomfortable as it did for me.

This indeed is a nice looking watch with many functions but you have to consider its limitations as well. The numerous features and functions of the Eco-Drive are still quite impressive. Except for the Arabic numeral bit, this timepiece is loaded with amenities. It's difficult to find a quality solar-powered watch with so many functions.
I cannot find anyone or any study that shows titanium is more prone to surface damage than stainless steel. In fact it is twice as strong, a third lighter, and is extremely corrosion resistant compared to stainless. Unless you like the polished look of stainless, which is less expensive, go with titanium. I've also researched analog/digital watches solar watches and Citizen is the way to go. The 5-year warranty and the Amazon price are outstanding as well-the retail price is $575.00.

Having said all of that, I ended up not purchasing the watch for the following reasons: I checked the watch out at a local jeweler where I found that taking links out made the watch uncomfortable; trying to read the digital date was extremely annoying, and the markers and coatings were neither big enough nor held light long enough. I give the 51L a marginal recommendation and look forward to continued evolution in design from Citizen and others in the solar/chronograph category. The Skyhawk should rely less on the Blue Angels motif and more on functionality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great time piece
This is my most favorite watch. I've owned several, and when I saw this solar powered watch, it was a "gotta have it" as soon as I saw one at the Mall. The hands are easy for me to read and they glow a soft blue at night. The digital display is a little hard to read for me as I'm visually impaired, but I can get by just fine. The heft of the watch is impressive to me. Makes me feel like I have a fine piece of "equipment" on my arm. All the features work well for what I use it for. Alarms, timers, etc. I'm sure the titaineum model would be lighter on my arm, but I like watches that I know they are on my arm. I wear it to work, church, and for just about everything. I hope more eco drive watches come out. I have another one that looks like the "you know what --lex" with the 24 hour hand. It's also Eco Drive. The Blue Angels watch keeps great time and is easy to set. Buy it you'll like it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, could be better
I purchased this watch because I wanted a solar-powered watch with analog-digital display (plus the usual things that go with a digital watch, i.e. alarms, stopwatch, and countdown timer). The only analog-digital solar watches I found included the Citizen Skyhawk, Citizen Sailhawk (JR4000 and JR4010), Citizen JR0006 (discontinued, but still available on some sites), the Casio atomic WVA430xxx (there are several incarnations, thus the 'x's'), Casio WVA510x, Casio AWS90x, and the Casio PAG60 line (watches that sport barometer, thermometer, and compass functions). The Casios (those I could find in stores) all seemed rather bulky and "plasticky."The discontinued JR0006 had a more primitive power management system and lacked a coordinated analog and digital display, and I didn't need the Sailhawk's yacht racing timer.I went with the Skyhawk in stainless, because I had read that titanium was more prone to surface injuries and I didn't think the weight would be a problem. The watch looks great and, indeed, the weight doesn't bother me, even though my benchpressing limit is probably about 20 pounds. The power save function really works. A moment after I took it out of the box, the hands started to spin around until they came to the right time; it had kept the time correctly for however many months or years it had been sitting in that box! It is NOT true, as many people have written, that this watch lacks luminous coatings, or that they lose their glow very quickly. The coatings seem very similar in brightness to those on my Seiko Diver's watch (which are very bright), and remain visible all night long. However, it IS true that the luminous regions are very small in area, so the overall impression is that the watch is a bit dim at night. The circular slide rule on the bezel is very cute. I'm not going to need it to calculate fuel consumption, but I will use it to calculate tips. There are a few things, however, that make this watch less than perfect.First, as others have observed, the watch face is attractive, but not particularly readable. The 24 hour and UTC subdials are adorable, but I can't see that I will ever need either (for any application that requires UTC, I would want to read the time off the more accurate digital display), and if the subdials weren't there the minute marks could have been made larger and more readable.Second, there's no backlight for the digital display, so the digital functions are useless at night. (Casio somehow manages to have a backlight in their solar-powered watches.) Third, it only works with full-hour time zones, so the watch isn't going to work properly in those parts of the world with half-hour time zones. Fourth, in most modes the two buttons are given over to the change-time zone function. If you want to do things like set the alarm or the countdown timer, you have to fiddle with the crown. But the crown is so beautifully protected that you pretty much have to remove the watch from your wrist before you can manipulate it. Frankly, I might need to change time zones once every couple of months, but I need to set alarms a couple of times a day, and it would have been better if the commonest operations had been the easiest to perform.Fifth, the countdown timer only goes to 99 minutes, which is too short for a lot of timer applications. The timer function display is actually redundant; Citizen might have been able to make better use of the LCD display to allow one to set countdown times in hours and minutes. Sixth, the alarm is very quiet. It won't wake anyone from sleep, and probably won't be heard in a noisy environment, either. In contrast, the alarm on my old Timex Expedition is many times louder, goes into a more insistent mode if ignored, and repeats after an interlude of a few minutes if not cancelled. In sum, buy this watch if you want an attractive analog-digital, solar-powered watch, but recognize that there is a lot of room for improvement, and something better is bound to come out, someday. ...
